چکیده

In most nations, diabetes mellitus is a serious and rising health issue. The goal of the study was to compare antidiabetic effects leaves extracts Decalepis hamiltonii in normal diabetic rats induced with alloxan. Using 120 mg/kg alloxan monohydrate, induced. order considerably lower blood glucose levels both alloxan-induced rats, D. methanolic extract given at doses 200 mg 400 mg, along glibenclamide dose 7 bwt. Additionally, injection dramatically reduced AST, ALT, triglycerides, total cholesterol while simultaneously raising amount liver glycogen. perform oral tolerance test (OGTT), separate groups were (200 mg), (7.5 which effectively sugar following an load all time points. These findings indicate that rats' successfully lowered by leaves. antioxidant potential measured using various vitro assays. showed high activity as scavenging DPPH, superoxide hydroxyl radicals. did not correlate phenolic content extracts. results demonstrate potency could be basis for its alleged promoting hamiltonii. serve new source natural antioxidants or nutraceuticals applications reducing level oxidative stress related benefits. KEYWORDS: hamiltonii, Antidiabetic, Antioxidant, Alloxan, OGTT

Antitumor Effect of Decalepis Hamiltonii Root Extract against Ehrlich Ascites Tumor in Mice

The antitumor activity of Decalepis hamiltonii root extract (DHA) was investigated in Ehrlich Ascites Tumor (EAT) cell model in mice and the effect was compared with that of the anticancer drug, cyclophosphamide (CP). Treatment of EAT cell bearing mice with aqueous extract of Decalepis hamiltonii (50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg b.w.) showed a significant reduction in ascites tumor volume, tumor cell co...

Decalepis hamiltonii root extract attenuates the age-related decline in the cognitive function in Drosophila melanogaster.

Age-associated accumulation of oxidative damage linked to decline of antioxidant defense mechanism, leads to impairment of cognitive function in many organisms. These damages can pass through generations and affect the cognitive quality of progenies. In Drosophila, classical olfactory conditioning results in the formation of different types of memory. Age-related memory impairment (AMI) causes ...
